~Recap~
Nami found out that she was to be used as a weapon of mass destruction and Grimmjow took her back to his room. Ichigo went around and bothered every captain and lieutenant she could to see who they sent out looking for her. Start out with Ichigo now.
~Story Start~
I paced around my room impatiently, waiting for my lieutenant Izuru Kira to finish his paperwork. He had said he would check with the other lieutenants about any news on Nami once he was finished. I had been waiting for at least two or three hours for him to come and I’d been pacing the whole time.
“Captain,” Izuru called through the door and I ran up to it and yanked it open.
“What is it? Did they find her?” I asked frantically, blue eyes wide and hopeful. I felt like a damn child, looking like that. Izuru grimaced and my hope began to drown within me, “What’s wrong?”
“You’d better sit down, Captain,” He mumbled, pushing me gently towards the couch on my right. He sat down next to me, opening and closing his mouth, at a loss for words. Finally he sighed and looked me directly in the eyes and said, “They talked to Ichigo and Uryu, Uryu said that he saw some espada carrying Nami through a garganta about a week ago. Ichigo is being… well… Ichigo.”
“Oh no…” I whispered, dropping my head in my hands. “No… Why would they take her to Hueco Mundo? She doesn’t even have an offensive zanpakuto.”
“But her zanpakuto can heal,” Izuru murmured. “They could use that.”
“Of course,” I sighed, tears welling up in my eyes but my voice never wavering. “Aizen would pull something like this. I wouldn’t have put it past him.” I paused, pursing my lips thoughtfully, “How long will it take to get into Hueco Mundo without an espada’s help?”
“I-I don’t know,” Izuru blinked, “You’d have to talk to Captain Kurotsuchi and Captain Yamamoto.”
I leapt up out of my seat, grabbing Izuru by his hand and dragging him with me as I raced away from our barracks and towards Division 12’s barracks. I had already talked to Nemu and Mayuri this morning and I was still itching to talk to them. Izuru finally got his feet on the floor and ran beside me. When we reached Mayuri’s room, I tapped on the doorframe with my knuckles roughly, gnawing on my lip gently as he opened his door.
“Captain, please, come with us.” I hardly gave him a chance to answer me before I took off, grabbing onto Nemu as I passed her and dragging her along with me. She didn’t make any effort to try to stop me as we flew back towards Division 1 barracks.
~Division 1~
“Captain Yamamoto!!” I yelled as the old man trudged out of his room. “Captain, please, wait!”
The old man looked up, raising his eyebrows gently and stopping, waiting for us to join him. When he saw me dragging Nemu, he chuckled, shaking his head slowly. “What is it that you need today, Captain Ryu?”
“Please,” I gasped as I tried to catch my breathe. “How long do you think it will take for everyone to find a way to get into Hueco Mundo?”
“Oh? Well, well,” Yamamoto opened his eyes a little. “So, you’re going to Hueco Mundo then?”
“If it’s possible, sir,” I nodded, blue eyes wide again. If there were any way that I could get Nami back, I would do it. “She’s like my sister, I NEED her.”
The head-captain waited for a moment before nodding towards Nemu and Mayuri, “Get right on that. We’ll have a Captain and Lieutenants meeting later on to explain what’s going on.”
“Thank you, sir,” I nodded, relieved, before turning to Mayuri and saying, “You don’t mind if I join in on the research, do you?”
“Of course not,” Mayuri nodded. “Just don’t get in the way.”
“What makes you think I would do that?” I chuckled, the four of us returning to Division 12.
~Nami’s POV~
I don’t know how long it took for Grimmjow to get bored with me. Maybe he was bored from the minute he sat down on the couch, maybe it was an hour after I’d stopped moving at all. The only reason he knew I was alive was because of the quiet breathing that echoed around the silent room. But, after a while, he groaned.
“Would you stop sulking? You’re boring me.”
I glanced up at him, a tiny smile on my lips, “I’m not here for your entertainment. I’m here to destroy everything I’ve fought to protect.”
I heard a faint, ‘finally’ before Grimmjow spoke a little louder and made his angry face, “Of course you’re here for my entertainment, that’s why you’re in MY room. Not your own.”
I flinched, remembering the darkness again, “I would appreciate it if you would not remind me of that room. I hated it.”
Grimmjow sighed, “You know what, your no fun.”
“I already told you,” I rolled my eyes, keeping my dull expression. “I’m not for entertainment.”
“Yeah, yeah,” He muttered. He stayed silent for a moment, returning my gaze down at my hands, before I yelped as a large pillow hit me in the side.
“What the hell was that for?!” I yelled, throwing the cushion back at him, hitting him in the head. “You don’t just hit someone like that! Especially when they aren’t looking.”
“At least I got some damn color back on your face,” Grimmjow spat. “You don’t look like your fucking dead anymore.”
I gave him a what-the-fuck look and jumped off his bed, walking to the door and shoving it open. As soon as I saw him move to stop me, I took off running again, getting lost as I raced through hallway after boring hallway. It wasn’t long before I found myself on the roof, staring up at the most beautiful sky. I dropped to my knees slowly, my tears staining the ground below me. I heard someone behind me and I leapt up, racing to the edge of the building and jumping off. I hadn’t really even started falling before I felt two strong hands grab me under my arms.
“Are you fucking crazy?! Damn woman, you could’ve killed yourself just now!” Grimmjow exclaimed, pulling me back up and laying me down on the ground roughly.
“My name’s not woman,” I growled, not nearly as loud as a yell but getting closer to it. “My name’s Nami, get it right damnit. You don’t see me calling you boy or man or Kitty Kat.”
“What?! You actually expect me to call you by your name?” Grimmjow looked at me like I had said something seriously stupid. “You’re a soul reaper; you don’t deserve to be called by your damn name. Besides you never even call me by my name!”
I scoffed, “But if I were to call you by your name, I would call you Grimmjow.” I paused, calming myself down as I realized I was still crying. I gently wiped the tears away from my eyes and pushed him away from me, standing up. When I spoke again, my voice was soft and apologetic, “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t be acting like this, it’s not me. I just… don’t want to be here anymore. I want to go home and be with my Captain and my father, I want to sleep in my bed and I want to hug Ichigo and laugh as we joke with Renji and Ikkaku and Yachiru. I want to fight Kenpachi and then heal him again. But… since it doesn’t seem I’ll be leaving, what I really want to do is just… die.”
Grimmjow didn’t talk for a while, the two of us just standing there. It didn’t take him five seconds more before he scoffed, “Well, that’s really stupid. It’s not like you CAN be turned into a weapon. You’re too weak; you can’t even run away from me.”
“I’m sure I could if I really wanted to,” I chuckled, hugging myself and ignoring his insult. “All I need to do is take off the patch and a glove. I could run faster then anyone here.”
“Prove it,” Grimmjow challenged, making me look up at him with surprise. When I didn’t say or do anything, he rolled his eyes, “Well? Are you gonna prove it or not, woman?”
I giggled, reaching for the patch on my shoulder but stopping as Angel urged me on inside my head. She sounded ready for a fight but I didn’t want that just now. I dropped my hands to my sides and shook my head, “I can’t.”
“Why not? You afraid you’re going to lose? Or did you lie?” Grimmjow grinned, looking more then a little cocky.
“No, I didn’t lie.” I sighed, locking my fingers together to keep myself from reaching up for the patch. “I’m just scared that I’ll go too far and kill you.”
Grimmjow glared at me skeptically, “Yeah right, a soul reaper? Kill me? That’s damn near impossible. I think you’re just full of shit.”
“Maybe I am,” I pursed my lips. “But, you’ll never know.” I laughed a little bit as I raced to the edge again and leapt off, chuckling as I landed gently on the ground, not even phased by any pain I was supposed to feel. I waved up at him, winking and running inside of Las Noches again.
I didn’t know how long I’d been running; all I knew was that Grimmjow was pissed when he finally found me. He grabbed me by my shoulders and glared at me, “Why the hell aren’t you dead? That was 20 stories high!”
I tried to push away from him but he only gripped me tighter, “Well, I was trying to run away from you the first time I jumped. But you caught me, so, naturally you wouldn’t have noticed that I would have been perfectly fine had you let me fall.” I ducked down, out of his grip and backed away from him by doing a couple of back flips. “Now, I think I’ve had enough fun for one day.”
“Fun?! How the hell is jumping off an extremely high building fun?” He growled, moving towards me and trying to catch me as I shunpoed behind him, leaping up onto his back like I imagined Ichigo would.
“It was a rush,” I giggled as he tried to get me off. “Your face was pretty funny too.”
“Damnit! Get off my back!!” He exclaimed, grabbing my leg and yanking me off his back. As he pulled me off, I hit my head on the floor, knocking me out.
~Grimmjow’s POV~
I watched as the soul reaper girl, Nami or whatever, got off my bed and moved to the door. As she shoved it open, I started to stand up, getting ready to grab her. She saw me, I think, and she flew out into the hallway, racing away at top speed. It didn’t take me long to find her again on the roof, falling onto her knees and crying. Her shoulder length pink hair was windblown and the tears that stained the roof were drying quickly. I took a step forward, obviously setting her back into her running stage for when she heard me, she stood up and ran to the edge of the building, jumping.
It didn’t take me long before I caught her beneath her arms, yanking her back up and setting her back down on the ground a little roughly. I glared down at her angrily, wishing I were allowed to hit her.
“Are you fucking crazy?! Damn woman, you could’ve killed yourself just now!” I exclaimed, exasperated.
“My name’s not woman,” She spat back at me, her sea foam green eyes glaring back at me defiantly. “My name’s Nami, get it right damnit. You don’t see me calling you boy or man or Kitty Kat.”
“What?!” I asked, a little angry. “You expect me to call you by your name? A soul reaper? Soul Reapers don’t deserve to be called by their names. Besides, you never call me by my name.”
“Well if I were to call you by your name, I would call you Grimmjow.” She growled back at me. Damn, the girl was so fucking PROPER, who the hell raised her? She waited for a moment before wiping the tears away from her face and sighing, pushing me backwards a little so she could stand up. Her voice was soft and apologetic when she spoke again, “I’m sorry.
It took me a moment not to be stunned again as she hugged herself, her head hanging down. When I did answer though, I put my skeptical voice on, “Well that’s stupid. It’s not like you CAN be a weapon. You’re too weak; you can’t even run away from me.”
She giggled, looking up at me with a smile. I wasn’t even sure she KNEW that she was smiling. “I probably could if I wanted to.”
I rolled my eyes, glaring down at her, “Prove it.” I waited for her to do something but when she didn’t, I said it again. “Well? Are you gonna prove it or not, woman?”
She giggled, reaching for the patch on her shoulder but stopping as something in her head made her think. She looked a little uncertain before she dropped her hands to her sides and shook her pink head, “I can’t.”
“Why not? You lie or are you just chicken?” I felt a little frustrated, she had just started to, why wouldn’t she go all the way to prove it?
“No, I didn’t lie.” She sounded hurt as I accused her of lying, like she would never do such a thing. She locked her fingers together as some sort of restraint I guess before she went on, “I’m just afraid I’ll lose control and… kill you.”
I glared at her skeptically again, “Yeah right, a soul reaper? Kill me? That’s damn near impossible. I think you’re just full of shit.”
She pursed her lips, her proper as fuck attitude popping up. “Maybe I am. Either way, you’ll never know.” She grinned at me for a moment, stopping me from returning my own comment and raced back to the ledge, leaping out too far for me to catch her. I raced after her, staring down at the ground as she landed easily, glancing back up with a smile and a wink. I felt my jaw drop in awe as she raced back inside, pissing me off even more.
“Damnit, this woman is too much trouble.” I grumbled as I went back inside, walking instead of running as I looked for her. I finally found her, watching as she tried to catch her breath. When she saw me, she straightened up and hid any sign of emotion as I grabbed her by the shoulders hard. “Why the hell aren’t you dead? That was 20 fucking stories high!”
She tried to push away from me but I only gripped her tighter, listening as she spoke, “Well, I was trying to run away from you the first time I jumped. But you caught me, so, naturally you wouldn’t have noticed that I would have been perfectly fine had you let me fall.” She ducked down, out of my grip and backed away from me by doing a couple of back flips. “Now, I think I’ve had enough fun for one day.”
“Fun?! How the fuck is jumping off 20 story buildings fun?” I growled as she jumped on my back, out of my reach.
“It was a rush,” She chuckled. “And, the look on your face.”
“Damnit! Get off my back!!” I growled, catching hold of one of her legs and pulling her forward, hearing a smack on the floor as her head hit it. I glanced down at her face, her eyes closed and a trickle of blood dripping on the floor. “Aw shit… Lord Aizen is going to be fucking pissed.”
I pulled her up into my arms, bridal style, and carried her back to my room slowly. On my way, I met up with Gin. His sly fox smile creeped me out, I mean really creeped me out. He took her away from me, going to treat her wound and sending me back to my room like a child. I waited there for a few hours, waiting for either Aizen or Gin or Nami to come in. After the first three hours I went to sleep on the bed. When I woke up, I found Nami sleeping next to me, curled up in a ball. I was too tired to say or do anything so I just turned over and went back to sleep, ignoring the warmth that came from her sleeping body.
~End~
Okie. Not as good as the other two. I was really disappointed with myself but, of course, I can’t help it sometimes. I do hope you enjoyed it. I won’t be writing for maybe an hour or more, I’mma go take a shower and then I’mma come back and write some more. Oh and I'm sorry there's no romance yet, I hate that love at first sight thing because it's just... bullshit. Pardon my language but I've always hated love with a passion which doesn't make since because I write so many love stories. -rolls eyes- anyways, again I am sorry. Hope you enjoyed this. Btw I found pics for them in rl
